Introduction

DVEM is one of the three specialized directorates within the Department of Land Management. The Directorate was established in the 1990’s as the unit in the Ministry of Lands and Resettlement to advice government on values for immovable properties. With time the unit has grown into an fully fledge Directorate headed by a Valuer General

Objectives

• DVEM is a Central Government Advisory Authority on Valuation and Estate Management in the country
• DVEM is a service provider to all Government agencies with regards to valuation of immovable properties.
• Required to generate valuation roll comprising of all rateable commercial farms for Land Tax purposes.
• Implementation of land tax
• Ensures that the State pays a fair price for properties acquired in line with the Market
• Ensures that Government disposes of its properties at a value that is in line with the Market.
